Runway Mortgages, a trading style of Kingston Mortgage Services Ltd, uses cookies on this website. This page explains what cookies are, which ones we currently use, and how you can control them.
What is a cookie?
A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser while they are browsing that website — stored as a text file on their device. When the user browses the same website again in the future, the data stored in the cookie is sent back to the website by the browser, notifying the website of the user’s previous visit.
Types of cookies
There are two main types of cookies in general use:
- Transient (or session) cookies — these are set and exist only for the duration of your visit to a specific website, and are removed once you finish. They store the route of your browsing on the website and how you navigate between different pages, which is particularly useful if you’ve entered information in a form and don’t need to re-enter it.
- Persistent (or permanent) cookies — these remain on your device until they expire or are deleted, and have a set duration to stay active. A persistent cookie will retain previously entered information to simplify future data input — typically things such as login credentials or an email address.
What we currently use cookies for
We keep cookie use on this website to a minimum. At present, we don't run any marketing or analytics cookies — for example, we don't currently use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel on this site. The only cookies in use are strictly necessary ones needed for the website to function correctly, and none of them identify you personally or track your activity across other websites.
If this changes in the future — for example, if we add website analytics to help us understand how visitors use the site — we'll update this page to reflect exactly what's in use, and seek your consent where required before doing so.
What we don't and will never do
- use cookies to track your internet usage after you leave our site;
- store personal information in a cookie that others could read and understand; or
- sell or distribute cookie information without your prior consent.
Cookies we use on this site
Essential cookies — these are the only cookies used on this website at present. They are necessary for the site to function properly and aren't used for tracking, marketing or analytics purposes.
Changing your cookie settings
To enable or disable cookies in your browser, follow the instructions provided by your browser (usually located within the ‘Help’, ‘Tools’ or ‘Settings’ menu). Alternatively, an external resource is available at www.aboutcookies.org, which provides detailed, browser-specific information about cookies and how to manage them.
